Please read these terms carefully before booking a tour with Blue Horizon Travel. By completing a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website at bluehorizontravel.co or by completing a tour booking, you agree to these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These terms apply to all tours operated or arranged by Blue Horizon Travel, a company operating in El Salvador and Canada.

Bookings and Reservations

A booking is confirmed when you complete the booking form and either pay a deposit or full payment through our secure Stripe checkout. For pay-later requests, confirmation is subject to review by our team.

  • You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking.
  • You are responsible for providing accurate contact and travel information at the time of booking and through your post-booking details link.
  • Spots are held for 15 minutes after you begin the Stripe checkout. If payment is not completed within that window, the spot is released.
  • Pay-later requests are provisional. We will contact you by email to confirm or decline within 2 business days.
  • A booking confirmation email will be sent to the address you provide. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive it within 30 minutes.

Payment

All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards. We do not store your card details.

Payment options

  • 20% Deposit - Secures your spot. The remaining 80% balance is due no later than 7 days before your tour date. We will contact you by email with payment instructions for the balance.
  • Full Payment - Pay the total amount at time of booking. No further payment is required.
  • Pay Later - Requests to pay after booking are reviewed by our team. Your spot is not confirmed until we approve the request and you complete payment. Pay-later spots may be declined if demand is high.

Prices are subject to change before a booking is confirmed. Once a booking is confirmed and payment received, the price is locked.

Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellations by you

  • 14 or more days before the tour - Full refund minus a 5% processing fee to cover Stripe transaction costs.
  • 7 to 13 days before the tour - 50% refund of the amount paid.
  • Less than 7 days before the tour - No refund. You may request a credit toward a future tour date, subject to availability.
  • No-show - No refund or credit will be issued.

Cancellations by Blue Horizon Travel

We reserve the right to cancel a tour due to insufficient bookings, severe weather, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a cancellation by us, you will receive a full refund of any amounts paid, or the option to reschedule at no extra cost. We are not responsible for any costs you may have incurred such as airfare, accommodation, or other travel expenses.

To cancel a booking, contact us at hello@bluehorizontravel.co with your booking reference as soon as possible. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.

Changes to Tour Schedules

We make every effort to operate tours as scheduled. However, itineraries, meeting points, or timings may be adjusted due to weather, road conditions, site closures, or other unforeseen circumstances.

  • We will notify you of significant changes as soon as reasonably possible via the email address on your booking.
  • Minor adjustments to order, timing, or logistics that do not substantially alter the experience do not constitute a cancellation.
  • If a change significantly affects your tour and you do not wish to proceed, you may cancel and receive a full refund.

Your Responsibilities

By booking with us, you agree to:

  • Arrive at the designated meeting point on time. Tours depart at the scheduled time and cannot be delayed for late arrivals.
  • Provide accurate information about any medical conditions, physical limitations, or dietary requirements that may affect your ability to participate safely.
  • Follow the instructions of your guide at all times, particularly regarding safety.
  • Behave respectfully toward other guests, local communities, guides, and natural environments.
  • Hold a valid passport or travel document and any visas required for entry into El Salvador.
  • Ensure you meet any physical requirements disclosed in the tour description before booking.

We reserve the right to remove any guest from a tour without refund if their behavior poses a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others, or if they fail to comply with guide instructions.

Liability

Blue Horizon Travel acts as an operator and coordinator of guided tours. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are not liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay, or additional expenses arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, natural disasters, political instability, strikes, or acts of third parties.
  • We are not responsible for any loss or theft of personal belongings during a tour.
  • We are not liable for costs related to flights, accommodation, or other travel arrangements that are not booked directly through us.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from a booking will not exceed the amount you paid for that booking.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance before their trip. At a minimum, your policy should cover:

  • Trip cancellation and curtailment
  • Emergency medical treatment and evacuation
  • Personal liability
  • Loss or theft of personal belongings

Blue Horizon Travel does not sell travel insurance and is not responsible for any losses that could have been covered by an appropriate policy.

Health and Safety

Some of our tours involve physical activity including hiking, swimming, or travel on unpaved roads. Tour descriptions include difficulty ratings and any physical requirements. It is your responsibility to assess your fitness before booking.

If you have a medical condition that may affect your ability to participate, please disclose it when completing your post-booking details so that our team can advise accordingly.

We reserve the right to exclude a guest from a specific activity on the day if, in the judgment of the guide, participation would pose an unreasonable risk to that person or others.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and tour descriptions, is the property of Blue Horizon Travel or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of El Salvador. For customers resident in Canada, applicable Canadian consumer protection laws also apply and are not excluded by these terms.

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of El Salvador, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
